Published by Elsevier Science. ISSN: 0306-2619. Applied Energy provides a forum for information and ideas in the areas of energy conversion, conservation and the optimal management and use of energy and power resources. The journal publishes original papers, reports and reviews, and authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts which bridge the gaps between research, development and implementation. The breadth of coverage ranges from ambient energy, through combustion and processes of electricity release, to the economic use of power in industry. Applied Energy is also concerned with the attendant problems of modelling and forecasting, conservation strategies, and the environmental and social impacts of energy policies and usage.

Applied Solar Energy is the only journal emanating from the Former Soviet Union that is solely devoted to solar energy science and technology. Published in translation since 1965, over the years this journal has been the source of many seminal articles on solar engineering. Today, it continues to publish articles on topics ranging from solar radiation, photovoltaics, and solar materials to direct conversion of solar energy into electrical energy. The following are the journal's major subject headings: • Accumulation of solar energy • Physics and chemistry of solar energy: collectors, photovoltaic cells, optical materials • Solar energy development in space research • New materials • Solar electric power plants and generators • Solar-powered heating and air-conditioning • Agricultural and industrial uses of solar energy The journal places an emphasis on various applications, such as solar devices for home and industrial uses, solar heating and cooling systems, solar power systems and units, and various agricultural uses. Also included is coverage of other renewable energy sources.

In recent years, our usage and understanding of different types of energy has grown at a tremendous rate. The editor-in-chief, Cutler Cleveland and his international team of associate editors have brought together approximately 400 authors, to produce the Encyclopedia of Energy. This highly topical reference draws together all aspects of energy, covering a wealth of areas throughout the natural, social and engineering sciences. The Encyclopedia of Energy provides easily accessible information about all aspects ofenergy, with articles written by leading international authorities. It will not only beindispensable for students and researchers, but also for policy makers, energy andenvironmental consultants, and all those working in business corporations and nongovernmental organisations whose activities relate to energy and the environment.

This journal is a multi-disciplinary focus for activities relating to the development, assessment and management of energy-related programs. It is hoped that this publication will prove to be an important factor in raising the standards of discussions, analyses, and evaluations relating to energy programs. The following are among the topical areas on which important contributions are solicited: input-output analyses relating to energy-consuming systems, careful resource or reserve assessments of all types, energy-conservation measures and their implementations, incisive evaluation of energy-systems managements, environmental-impact assessments, and policy alternatives stressing economic implications.

Published by Multi-Science Publishing Co Ltd. ISSN: 0958-305X. Energy and Environment is an interdisciplinary journal aimed at natural scientists, technologists and the international social science and policy communities covering the direct and indirect environmental impacts of energy acquisition, transport, production and use. A particular objective is to cover the social, economic and political dimensions of such issues at local, national and international level. The technological and scientific aspects of energy and environment questions including energy conservation, and the interaction of energy forms and systems with the physical environment, are covered, including the relationship of such questions to wider economic and socio-political issues. Papers covering energy related aspects of wider environmental questions are included, such as the use of fuel wood and continuing impacts of de-forestation. A major aim of Energy and Environment is to act as a forum for constructive and professional debate between scientists and technologists, social scientists and economists from academia, government and the energy industries on energy and environment issues in both a national and international context. It is also the aim to include the informed and environmentally concerned public and their organisations in the debate. Particular attention is given to ways of resolving conflict in the energy and environment field.

Published by American Chemical Society. ISSN (printed): 0887-0624. ISSN (electronic): 1520-5029. An interdisciplinary and prestigious journal, Energy & Fuels reports what's new in the chemistry of non-nuclear energy sources, including petroleum, coal, shale oil, tar sands, biomass, synfuels, C1 chemistry, organic geochemistry, applied catalysis, and combustion. Energy & Fuels continues to emphasize advances in the transformation, utilization, formation, and production of fossil fuels. Topics covered span the molecular composition of both the raw fuels and refined products, the chemistry involved in processing these fuels, the analytical and instrumental techniques used in energy and fuels investigations, and research on non-fuel substances relevant to fuel chemistry.

Energy and Buildings is an international journal publishing articles with explicit links to energy use in buildings. The aim is to present new research results, and new proven practice aimed at reducing energy needs of a building and improving indoor environment quality.

It is published with the editorial support of the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB)

Topics covered include:
• Energy demands and consumption in existing and future buildings
• Thermal comfort and indoor air quality
• Natural and mechanical ventilation
• Air distribution in air conditioned buildings
• Application of solar and other renewable energy sources in buildings
• Energy balances in major building complexes (industrial, public and other buildings)
• HVAC and refrigeration systems in residential, public and industrial buildings
• Heat recovery systems in buildings
• Buildings and district heating
• Energy conservation in built environment
• Energy efficient buildings
• Building physics
• Sustainable buildings and energy demands
• Evaluation and control of indoor thermal and lighting systems
• Intelligent buildings
• Links between architectural design, mechanical and lighting systems
• New materials in buildings and their impact on energy demands
• External and internal design conditions for energy efficient buildings

Papers with results based on simulations are welcome but those with clear links to laboratory or field measurements are preferred. These links may include calibration, benchmarking, or comparisons of results.

The Journal provides a forum for publishing original contributions and comprehensive technical review articles of interdisciplinary and original research in static and dynamic energy conversion; energy efficiency and management; heat pipes; thermosyphons and capillary pumped loops; thermal management of spacecraft; space and terrestrial power systems; hydrogen production and storage; renewable energy; nuclear power; single and combined cycles; miniaturized energy conversion and power systems; fuel cells and advanced batteries; and water management and desalination. Papers of high technical merit addressing significant advances in the field and state-of-the-art developments are sought. All sources, forms, storage, and uses and all conversion phenomena of energy are appropriate, whether static or dynamic conversion systems and processes and energy storage. This includes, but is not limited to, solar, nuclear, fossil, geothermal, wind, hydro, and biomass, process heat, electrolysis, heating and cooling, and electric drive applications, as well as commercial, space, industrial, transportation and residential applications. Energy conversion includes, but is not limited to, thermoelectricity; thermionic; photoelectric, thermal-photovoltaic; magneto-hydrodynamic; Brayton, Diesel, Rankine and combined cycles, and Stirling engines; hydrogen and other advanced fuel cells; and various forms of batteries, and energy storage. As all these topics are constrained by official energy policy, articles on energy policy that impact the evolution of these technologies will be accepted. As the Journal is international in scope, papers dealing with state-of-the-art developments in various nations, or comparative studies of energy conversion and management in several countries will be accepted.
